In addition to Copilot, several native apps are being updated with AI capabilities. Paint will gain features like background removal, layers, and a preview of Cocreator to bring generative AI into image creation. Photos is being enhanced with automatic background blurring to highlight subjects and improved search based on photo content and geolocation. Snipping Tool will enable text extraction from images, text redaction for sensitive info, and audio/mic support for screen recordings.
Video creation is getting a boost too with Clipchamp's new auto compose feature which can suggest scenes, edits, and narratives based on provided visuals and audio. For writers, Notepad is gaining auto-save and tab restoration to pick up editing where you left off.
Communication will be improved as well. The new Outlook for Windows brings together different email accounts into one interface with intelligent tools for drafting and attaching files. File Explorer is being modernized with an updated home page, address bar, and search to surface relevant content and updates. Accessibility continues to be a focus with new voice access authoring experiences and natural voices in Narrator.
Finally, Windows Backup will simplify transferring files, apps, and settings to a new Windows 11 PC so everything feels familiar. With these latest AI integrations and app updates, Microsoft aims to save people time, unleash creativity, and enhance productivity across work and life.
